Ron Washington: Moreland ready to go

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Manager Ron Washington went with Mitch Moreland at first base today against right-handed pitcher James Shields.

Moreland played just seven of the last 16 games of the season and hit .184 in September.

"He's ready to go," Washington said. "And it's just a matter of going out there and getting some pitches in the zone that he can handle and putting a good pass on it. He's fine. Everyone in that clubhouse is fine. Once again, we just have to go out there and play baseball. The same thing that Tampa's going to do. But Moreland is fine."

Other notes:

* The Rangers will work out in Tampa on Sunday afternoon to prepare for Game 3 on Monday. That game will be started by Colby Lewis. The Rays are having a voluntary workout.

* Washington said he wanted to get Matt Harrison's feet wet in the postseason. "It was an 8-0 game and we figured we'd get him in there," Washington said. "He was supposed to go out there for 15 pitches and that was it."
