Josh Hamilton: 'I'm about 50 percent'

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton said he was playing at about 50 percent with a strained groin in these playoffs.

"I’m about 50 percent," Hamilton told Ben Rogers in an interview on ESPN 103.3 FM. "I’m going to give you 100 percent of my 50 percent."

Hamilton has dealt with the groin for a few months now, but is playing through it. He hit .308 with no homers and five RBIs in the ALCS after batting .267 (4-for-15) in the ALDS.

"We got a lot of power on the team, so I’m definitely not concerning myself with hitting home runs and producing that way," Hamilton said. "Whatever the game asked me to do -- whether get a guy over, or make a catch in the outfield -- I'm trying to do it. I told Kins after our first at-bat [Saturday], 'Let's not try to do too much.' "

Hamilton continues to receive treatment on the groin and took Friday off to rest it. The team has Sunday off, so he'll get more time off his feet as he prepares for the World Series.
