ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Rangers became just hte second major league team ever to have a bullpen record all four wins in a best-of-7 postseason series, joining the 1997 Cleveland Indians in that year's ALCS vs. Baltimore.

Alexi Ogando had two of those wins, becoming just the fifth reliever ever with multiple wins in a single ALCS, joining Sparky Lyle (1977), Tom Henke (1985), Gene Nelson (1988) and Francisco Rodriguez (2002).

"He did everything we needed him to do," pitching coach Mike Maddux said. "But it wasn't any different than what he did in the playoffs last year. Alexi is a big reason we're here. The same can be said for all of the guys in the bullpen."

That bullpen helped stabilize a staff that included some struggling starters. The Texas rotation compiled a 5.62 ERA in the playoffs, posting a 3-3 record. The longest outing by a starter has been six innings by Colby Lewis, but there have been just two starts of six innings (Lewis in ALDS Game 3 and Wilson in ALCS Game 5). Lewis had the only quality start of the postseason for the Rangers.
