ARLINGTON, Texas – Alexi Ogando finally got Allen Craig out. Too bad he had to deal with Albert Pujols and the middle of the Cardinals’ lineup after that.
Pujols crushed a fastball that caught way too much of the plate for a three-run home run. The ball went off the facing of the club level in left field, an estimated 423 feet from home plate.
Another run scored on Yadier Molina’s sacrifice fly after Ogando was pulled following a four-run, three-hit, two-walk, one-out outing.
Ogando, who starred in the Rangers’ run to the American League pennant, has had an awful World Series. He allowed inherited runners to score on Craig hits in the first two games. He has a WHIP of 7.00 after leaving the bases loaded with one out in the sixth inning of Game 3.
The Cardinals scored multiple runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
Cardinals 12, Rangers 6 entering the bottom of the sixth.
