SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said Tuesday that he isn't expecting to make some big moves any time soon.

Daniels was asked about reliever Koji Uehara, who has heard his name swirling around trade talk the past week. The GM said Uehara is "a Texas Ranger" and that nothing was imminent.

"This is the group we're expecting to go forward with," said Daniels about the 59 players on the roster. "Things can change. Every spring there are moves here and there, but we're ready to go with this group."

Earlier in the day, Uehara said he'd prefer to know one way or the other.

"I'm pretty sick of it, but I know this is how it works," Uehara said through a translator. "I have to concentrate on getting ready for the season. This is a good team. I want to play for this team."

Daniels said there was "nothing new" on the Roy Oswalt front, either. The club met with Oswalt last month, but did not want to give him a rotation spot and move someone else out. Daniels said the only agent he's talked to recently was the one representing Neal Cotts, a free agent pitcher who signed a minor-league deal with the club on Monday.
