Contracts: Derek Holland, Neftali Feliz among 13 deals

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The Texas Rangers have agreed to terms with 13 pre-arbitration players to contracts for the 2012 season. Here's the list:

Engel Beltre ($480,000)

Julio Borbon ($490,000)

Jacob Brigham ($480,000)

Miguel De Los Santos ($480,000)

Neftali Feliz ($502,000)

Wilmer Font ($480,000)

Mark Hamburger ($481,000)

Derek Holland ($504,700)

Michael Kirkman ($482,900)

Roman Mendez ($480,000)

Justin Miller ($480,000)

Alexi Ogando ($497,600)

Martin Perez ($480,000)

The club has eight remaining players to come to terms with, including Mitch Moreland and Craig Gentry.

Quick aside: It's always fun to see this list because it's a reminder of how young this club is and that if you get production from younger players, it's a huge bargain. Ogando is coming off an All-Star season and is making less than $500,000. Holland took a huge step forward in 2011 and is slated to be a stalwart in this rotation in 2012 and is earning just over $500,000. But that's part of drafting and developing well and having a player for six years. Many of these players will get sizeable raises when they hit arbitration in the coming years.
