Intrasquad: Joe Beimel has clean inning

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Before the start of today's Cactus League affair with the Kansas City Royals, the Texas Rangers put together a quick intrasquad game with mostly minor leaguers on Nolan Ryan Field.

That included left-handed pitcher Joe Beimel, who had been dealing with elbow stiffness last week. Beimel had one strikeout in 15 pitches (11 strikes) in his lone inning of work. Here are some other results from today's three-inning game:

Martin Perez: 2 IP, 2 H (24 pitches, 15 strikes)
Neil Ramirez: 2 IP, 3 H, 2 R/ER, 1 BB, 1 K (28 pitches, 16 strikes)
Wilmer Font: 1 IP (15 pitches, 9 strikes)
