He left Wednesday's game after the second inning with a jammed right heel. The injury occurred on a double to left field. Hamilton iced the heel and lower ankle when he left the game.
"I don't know, I just went to turn and came up short," Hamilton said. "I guess I stunned my heel. Instead of pushing it, I decided to come out. It's okay. It was just sore."
Hamilton is slated to bat third in the order.
*Mike Napoli is not in the lineup but his left groin is progressing. He will participate in catching drills Thursday. Napoli hit and jogged Wednesday for the first time since he felt tightness in his groin Saturday. He also threw on the field for the second straight day Wednesday.
*Catcher Dusty Brown will throw to the bases Thursday. He began a more aggressive throwing program Wednesday following arm-fatigue issues.
