Injuries: Yorvit Torrealba (back) works out

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Catcher Yorvit Torrealba will have a full workout with the team Monday, but he will not play against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Torrealba was a late scratch to the lineup in Las Vegas on Sunday. He felt tightness on the right side of his lower back during batting practice. He wanted to loosen it up before the game, but manager Ron Washington decided to give Torrealba the day off.

He hopes to play Tuesday against the Chicago Cubs. The Rangers have a scheduled off day Wednesday.

Other injuries:

*Brad Hawpe will not play Monday due to tightness in his left hamstring. He went 1-for-2 in Sunday's rain-shortened game against the Milwaukee Brewers. His only hit was a two-run homer to left field in the third inning.

Hawpe dealt with tightness in his right hamstring to start spring training. He has played just six games this spring -- his first March 11 during the Rangers' B game against the Kansas City Royals.
