Rangers are No. 1 in ESPN power rankings

The Texas Rangers' 8-2 start this season has shoved them up the ESPN power rankings and into the top spot. They were fourth last week.

This week's voters: Jim Bowden of ESPN Insider, Tim Kurkjian of ESPN The Magazine, David Schoenfield of the SweetSpot Blog Network/ESPN.com and Jayson Stark of ESPN.com.

Here's the top five:

1. Texas Rangers (previously 4)
2. Detroit Tigers (1)
3. St. Louis Cardinals (6)
4. New York Yankees (8)
5. Los Angeles Dodgers (11)

The other teams in the AL West:

17. Los Angeles Angels (5)
22. Seattle Mariners (19)
24. Oakland A's (27)

Note: The Angels took the biggest drop in the rankings (12 spots).
