DETROIT -- Michael Young will catch the ceremonial first pitch thrown by Pudge Rodriguez on Monday as part of the club's pregame cermony.

Rodriguez is officially retiring as a Ranger on Monday and will hold a news conference and be honored prior to the Rangers-Yankees game at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

"I'm happy to do it," Young said. "I was here during part of his first stint with the team and he was a great teammate and a great player. It should be a big day for him."
