Game postponed; doubleheader Saturday

DETROIT -- Friday's game between the Texas Rangers and Detroit Tigers was postponed because of rain. It will be made up on Saturday as part of a day-night doubleheader. The first game remains at 12:05 p.m. central time as scheduled (on Fox Sports Southwest and ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM) and the second will start at 6:05 p.m. (on TXA21 and KSKY 660 AM).

The wet weather is expected to move out overnight with cooler temperatures arriving.

Matt Harrison, who was scheduled to start Friday, will start the first game against Rick Porcello and Neftali Feliz will start Game 2 against Justin Verlander.

The Rangers had two rainouts in 2011, including the first road trip of the season in Baltimore.

Maybe the only thing stopping the Rangers these days is rain. Several players were disappointed not to keep things going by playing on Friday.

"You don't want to play doubleheaders," said catcher Mike Napoli, who has a homer in his last four games (and five total). "It's a long day. You want to go out and play. But Mother Nature ain't having it, so we'll get ready and play tomorrow."
