Derek Holland: No changes after rough start
ARLINGTON, Texas -- After his worst outing of the season, Derek Holland's message was simple -- he isn't changing anything.
The Yankees shelled Holland for seven runs off nine hits in a 7-4 loss last Monday.
"Just because you have one bad outing doesn't mean you should change anything," Holland said. "Just look at what you did wrong. For me, it was execution. I didn't get the pitches where they needed to be."
For all the moustache and mullet enthusiasts, the superstitious Holland isn't going to the clippers because of one bad start, either.
"My moustache didn't pitch. My hair didn't pitch," Holland said. "It's my fault. That's just me being me. That's just one thing that gets beat around too much."
Consistency is the name of the game for Holland, who hadn't given up seven or more runs since July of last season.
"You just let it go. You don't sit and dwell on it," Holland said. "If you do, it feels like it got to you more than it should."
Holland returns to the mound in the series finale against Tampa Bay on Sunday.
He'll have his work cut out for him against David Price, who is coming off a complete-game shutout of the Angels.
