The Texas Rangers open a three-game series at Progressive Field in Cleveland against the Indians at 6:05 p.m. on ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM and TXA21. A look at the pitching matchup:

Colby Lewis (3-0, 1.93 ERA): The 32-year-old will make his sixth start of the season tonight and hopes to continue his streak of quality starts (five in his first five outings). ... He is second in the AL with a 1.93 ERA and tied for the AL-lead with those five quality starts. ... He gave up one run in six innings to Tampa Bay, holding them to three hits, but issuing three walks. ... His 25 2/3 inning walk-less streak was snapped in the first inning of his last start, but he has just four walks in 32 2/3 innings this season. ... Opposing batters are 0-for-21 with 10 strikeouts with runners in scoring position against Lewis, the highest at-bat total without a hit in the big leagues. ... Lewis is 2-0 with a 5.87 ERA in five games (four starts) vs. Cleveland. ... He won his only start at Progressive Field (April 14, 2010), striking out 10 and giving up two runs on three hits with four walks in 5 1/3 innings.

Jeanmar Gomez (1-1, 2.35 ERA): After starting 21 games in each of the last two seasons, the 24-year-old Gomez is back in the Indians rotation and pitching well. ... He was ejected in his first start of the season after hitting Kansas City's Mike Moustakas to start the third inning after the clubs got into a bench-clearing incident in the top of the inning. ... In his two full starts since then, Gomez has allowed three earned runs in 11 1/3 innings with three walks and 10 strikeouts. ... Gomez beat the A's this season, but lost a 2-1 game to the Angels in his last start.

Hitters: Current Indians are hitting just .227 against Lewis. ... Travis Hafner is 1-for-6 and Casey Kotchman 2-for-10 off Lewis, while Johnny Damon is 4-for-13. ... Gomez has never faced Texas.
