ARLINGTON, Texas – Texas Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Seattle Mariners, playing left field and batting third.

Hamilton, who did not play in Monday’s game with upper respiratory issues, said he feels about the same as he did on Monday, but will try to play.

“It’s not going to get any worse,” Hamilton said. “I’ll go out and play and see what happens. It will be fine.”

Manager Ron Washington said Hamilton was at the ballpark early on Tuesday and said he wanted to play. Washington said he’ll watch Hamilton in batting practice and will see how he’s feeling as the game is going.

“If I have to pull him off, I will and give him another day,” Washington said.

Other notes:

* Craig Gentry is in center field once again. He made a diving attempt in the eighth inning of Monday's 4-2 win over Seattle and Brendan Ryan tried to come all the way around for an inside-the-park homer. Nelson Cruz backed up the play and started the nice relay throws to get Ryan at the plate. Washington and outfield coach Gary Pettis talked with Gentry about the proper time and place to try to make a play like that.

"I don't want to stop him being aggressive," Washington said. "We talked about when it's a good idea and when it's not."

* RHP Alexi Ogando is avaliable to pitch tonight. He was hit on the right arm by a line drive on Sunday and did not pitch Monday.
