Jered Weaver says he's going on the DL

An MRI and X-rays indicated Weaver has a strained muscle and some inflammation around one of the disks in his lower back. He said he's hopeful he can return shortly after he's eligible to return on June 12. It is Weaver's second trip to the DL. He missed three weeks at the start of the 2007 season recovering from right biceps tendinitis.Read the rest here.
"It's always disappointing knowing you're not going to be out there pitching two or three times," Weaver said. "I'm a competitor when I get out there, but I'm going to work my butt off in between here to do whatever it takes to get back on that mound."
