ARLINGTON, Texas -- Alexi Ogando continues to make progress rehabbing his groin after straining it beating out a bunt single against the San Francisco Giants on June 10.

On Wednesday, Ogando simulated his entire windup under the supervision of an athletic trainer. He said everything felt good during the exercise.

Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said Tuesday that the plan is for Ogando to throw his first bullpen session sometime next week and send him out on his first rehab assignment during the Rangers' All-Star break (July 9-12).

Other notes:

* Craig Gentry got some action in Tuesday's win over the Tigers as a defensive replacement in center field. It was the first time Gentry had played since being pulled in the fourth inning Saturday after aggravating a right ankle sprain he suffered Friday. Gentry said he felt great in the field and is completely ready to go when called upon.

* A starter for Saturday's contest against the Oakland Athletics has yet to be named. Justin Grimm, who has started twice for the Rangers, is available to come out of the bullpen tonight. Martin Perez was called up from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday when Colby Lewis was placed on the disabled list. It is expected that Grimm or Perez will get the nod Saturday depending on how the bullpen is used in the coming days.

* Mark Lowe, who matched his career high in innings pitched Monday with three hitless innings, is available to pitch one inning tonight if needed. Michael Kirkman, who threw five innings Monday, is not available tonight.
