ARLINGTON, Texas -- Left-handed starter Derek Holland will make a rehab start in Round Rock on Monday. If all goes well, there's a chance he could return to the starting rotation this week.

Holland (5-4, 5.10 ERA) has been on the disabled list since June 7 with left elbow fatigue. He's been eligible to return since June 21 and has missed 22 games.

"It will be determined when we get the next report on his start and see what everybody thought," manager Ron Washington said on what the determining factors will be to get Holland back to the big leagues. "We'll have some of our big eyes down there. If they feel like we need for him to have that start on the 7th, then it will be. If he continues to have a start down (in the minors) that's the way it will be. But that's not a decision we've made."

Holland is scheduled to throw about 75 pitches in his rehab start for Triple-A Round Rock. He won't make the three-day trip with the Rangers to Chicago but could pitch at home Saturday against Minnesota.

Washington said Yu Darvish, Sunday's starter, could move up in the rotation and pitch Friday.

The Rangers could also forgo pitching Holland on Friday and Washington would choose from Justin Grimm and Martin Perez.

"That could change," Washington said. "Write it in pencil so you can erase it."

Washington added the club isn't going to find innings for Grimm unless something develops.

Notes: With the Rangers sending a club-record seven players to the All Star game, Washington said he's not expected to give some of the honored players extra days off. "No, we're trying to win ballgames all the way to the end," Washington said. "Extra rest? Please, we're just trying to win ballgames." ... Right-hander Neftali Feliz made long-throws Saturday and Washington said the starter's session was outstanding and he threw with power. ... There's a chance Alexi Ogando and Koji Uehara, both on the DL, will get bullpen sessions in Chicago. ... GM Jon Daniels said the club still doesn't have any word on the eligibility of Jairo Beras. The league is still investigating his age. But it's limited what the Rangers can do on international signings this summer. "We're just waiting," Daniels said. "We still believe he should be a Texas Rangers. We'll have to wait and see."
