The Texas Rangers took a four-game lead into the All-Star Game and after two series following the break, they have increased the lead in the AL West to six after Detroit beat the Angels on Thursday, 5-1.

The Los Angeles Angels lost two of three to the New York Yankees and three of four to the Detroit Tigers. It's the Rangers' biggest lead in the AL West since June 30, when they were 6 1/2 games up.

Following the first two series after the All-Star break last season, Texas was three games ahead of the Angels.
