ARLINGTON, Texas --The Texas Rangers announced Monday that 1B/OF Mitch Moreland will rejoin the team for Monday's game against the Los Angeles Angels after a stint on the 15-day disabled list.

The Rangers optioned outfielder Leonys Martin to Triple-A Round Rock to make room for Moreland on the active roster.

Moreland was placed on the disabled list on June 22 after straining his left hamstring while trying to beat out a throw to first base against the San Diego Padres on June 19.

“I feel great,” Moreland said. “I’ve been ready for a couple days and I’m ready to get back out there. I think the hamstring’s kind of a nagging injury, so I do have to be careful with it. But I definitely tested it a couple times and had no problems with it at all.”

Other notes:

* Josh Hamilton will bat fifth on Monday for the second consecutive night. He will also start in center field for the first time since the Rangers last game against the Angels on July 22 (six games). Ron Washington said that he wants to keep Josh in fifth until he can totally get back in a groove.

"I’m going to keep him there until I come up in here and he comes out of my pen in third," Washington said. "We just want him to get some at bats where he slows things down. Josh is going to be fine. He’s too talented not to be. I just want to give him a chance to catch his breath.”

* Washington said that Scott Feldman is preparing for another start, indicating that he would be the Rangers' starter for their game against the Kansas City Royals on Friday. Feldman has been playing some of his best baseball in his last few starts, matching a career-high eight innings pitched with no walks in a shutout victory over the Chicago White Sox in his last start.
