ARLINGTON, Texas -- The final game of this three-game series should be a hot one at 2:05 p.m. today at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington on ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM and FSSW. The pitching matchup features RHP Yu Darvish vs. RHP Rick Porcello. Here's a look:

Darvish (11-8, 4.57 ERA): Texas is 13-8 in Darvish's starts as he prepares for his 22nd of the season. ... Since the start of July, he is 1-4 with a 7.04 ERA in six starts with 24 walks and 48 strikeouts. ... He's raised his ERA by a full run in the process. ... Darvish took the loss in Boston on Monday, giving up six runs on 11 hits in 6 2/3 innings with nine strikeouts and four walks. ... He set a Rangers record by allowing seven doubles in the start. ... He has a 3.38 ERA with 15 strikeouts and six walks in two starts vs. the Tigers -- both wins for Darvish. ... He is 1-2 with a 5.31 ERA in three starts when facing a team for the third time.

Porcello (9-6, 4.62 ERA): After putting up solid numbers in June -- 3-1 with a 3.00 ERA, 22 strikeouts and eight walks in six starts -- Porcello has slowed in July and August. ... He sported a 5.40 ERA in July and so far in August has allowed seven runs in 12 1/3 innings, yet is 2-0. ... His last outing was a quality start as Porcello gave up three runs on eight hits in 6 2/3 innings in a 6-5 win at home against the New York Yankees. ... He's had a good start and a bad start against the Rangers in 2012. He allowed nine runs (eight earned) on 10 hits and lasted just one inning in a 10-4 Rangers win on April 21 in Arlington, but he gave up just one run on six hits in six innings in an 8-2 Tigers win in Detroit on June 25.

Hitters: Adrian Beltre is 5-for-11 with two doubles against Porcello. ... Ian Kinsler (5-for-8), David Murphy (5-for-9) and Michael Young (5-for-10) have also hit him well. ... Elvis Andrus and Josh Hamilton are a combined 1-for-13, but the one hit was a Hamilton homer. ... Prince Fielder is 2-for-5 with a double, a homer and three RBIs off Darvish. ... Brennan Boesch, Austin Jackson and Jhonny Peralta are still looking for their first hit against Darvish, going 0-for-16 so far.
