Texas Rangers pitcher Roy Oswalt has cleared waivers, according to a source. It means the veteran pitcher can be traded to any team now, though it doesn’t mean the Rangers will deal him. The deadline for players to be traded and still be eligible for the postseason is Friday.

A few reports have suggested that the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox could be in need of pitching depth. Oswalt, 35, would be owed around $1 million in base salary for the rest of the season, though his contract does include some incentives.
