Numbers: Derek Holland's solid outing

Thanks to ESPN Stats & Information's Michael Preleski for compiling some information on Derek Holland's excellent start against the Tampa Bay Rays. Holland gave up one run (a solo homer to Evan Longoria) on two hits in eight innings and had a career-high 11 strikeouts. Here's a look:

* Holland got 22 of his 24 outs with his fastball. He threw it 74 percent of the time, his fifth-highest percentage of the season.

* With two strikes, Holland threw his fastball 78 percent of the time, his second-highest percentage of the season. Nine of his 11 strikeouts came with the fastball.

* Holland started 20 of 28 hitters (71 percent) with a first-pitch strike, matching his second-highest percentage of the season.
