ARLINGTON, Texas -- The second game of this four-game set between the first- and second-place AL West teams features Yu Darvish and Tommy Milone. The first pitch is 7:05 p.m. on ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM and FSSW:

Darvish (16-9, 3.90 ERA): The 26-year-old right-hander has had four consecutive starts of seven or more innings while allowing four or fewer hits. He's just the third Rangers pitcher to have such a streak, joining Gaylord Perry (4, July 18-Aug. 1, 1975) and Nolan Ryan (4, Aug. 28-Sept. 14, 1990). ... He got his 16th win of the season in a 3-1 Rangers win in Anaheim last week, allowing just one run on four hits in eight innings with nine strikeouts and one walk. ... His 16 wins are the most by a major league rookie since the Yankees' Ivan Nova (16) in 2006. ... He has a career-high seven consecutive quality starts, going 5-1 with a 2.13 ERA and a .151 opponent average in that spon. ... He's 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA in three starts against the A's, one of just two teams to have defetaed Darvish twice this season (Seattle is the other).

Milone (13-10, 3.86 ERA): He wasn't able to get through five full innings in a 12-4 win over the Detroit Tigers in his last start, giving up three runs on nine hits in 4 2/3 innings and needing 94 pitches to do it. ... But Milone has quality starts in four of his last six outings. ... His last start against the Rangers didn't go well as he gave up six runs on six hits in five innings. ... He also lost to the Rangers on May 16, allowing four runs on nine hits in seven innings in a 4-1 loss. ... Milone will become the ninth rookie in Oakland history to start 30 games when he throws his first pitch tonight. ... He's 2-0 with a 3.18 ERA in his last three starts, but has never had a three-game winning streak.

Hitters: Current A's hitters are batting just .242 against Darvish. ... Coco Crisp is 3-for-6 with a homer and four RBIs off Darvish. ... Seth Smith is 3-for-8 with two doubles. ... Josh Hamilton is 3-for-6 with a homer and three RBIs against Milone. ... Adrian Beltre is 3-for-7 with two homers and Elvis Andrus is 3-for-7. ... Mike Napoli is 1-for-5.
