ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Texas Rangers-Los Angeles Angels game will not start before 5 p.m. CT Saturday because of rain, the club announced. The first pitch was scheduled for 3:05 p.m.

Both teams want to get the game in today if possible, but that’s dependent on if the rain ceases and they get a window to get the game in. Club officials are expected to give another update in a few hours.

The tarp has been on the field since after last night’s game, and rain has been falling at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington since this morning.

If the game is played, Derek Holland will be on the mound for the Rangers against Angels’ Ervin Santana. Texas came into the day three games up in the AL West and with a magic number of three to clinch. The Angels are two games behind the Oakland A’s in the wild card race.
