The Texas Rangers announced that right-handed pitcher Tyler Tufts was activated from the 15-day disabled list and then outrighted to Triple-A Round Rock. The move means the club has 39 players on the 40-man roster.

Tufts' contract was purchased from Double-A Frisco on Aug. 31 and he was placed on the DL for surgery to repair a perforated bowel. He was 2-1 with a 5.64 ERA in 19 relief outings with Round Rock and Frisco before going on the DL in Frisco on June 30.
