All players on 40-man roster under contract

2/20/2013

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The Texas Rangers announced that pitcher Josh Lindblom (who was striking out Craig Gentry in the intrasquad game as the email was sent out) and outfielders Engel Beltre, Julio Borbon and Gentry have agreed to terms on one-year contracts for 2013.

Borbon will make $496,000, Beltre earns $490,000 and Lindblom gets $500,100. Of the four, Gentry is the highest paid at $501,000.

That means all 40 players on the major league roster are now under contract for 2013.

Here's more about the four players from the club's release:

Lindblom was acquired from Philadelphia on December 6 in the deal that sent infielder Michael Young to the Phillies. The righthander was 3-5 with a 3.55 ERA in 74 appearances with the Dodgers and Phillies in 2012.

Beltre was with Double-A Frisco last season, batting .261 with 13 homers and 55 RBI in 133 games. Borbon spent all of 2012 at Triple-A Round Rock, hitting .304 with 10 homers and 56 RBI in 126 games. Gentry batted .304 with one homer and 26 RBI over 121 games in his first full season with Texas.
