Last season finished with a thud for the Texas Rangers. They blew a late lead in the division and then lost to the Orioles in the AL wild-card game.
But the past is the past. It's time to look ahead to the 2013 season. Richard Durrett predicts the Rangers to finish 89-73 (they were 93-69 last year) and second in the AL West, good enough for a wild-card spot. Here's some of what he had to say:
Unlike previous seasons, the Rangers don't ever get on a long winning streak in the middle of the season to pad their totals, but they will be more consistent. Outside of June, I've got them above .500 the rest of the time. ... And they get the second wild-card spot in the AL by a whisker. So yes, they'll be back in that elimination playoff game. And perhaps they can win it this time.
What do you think the Rangers' record will be? Will they make the playoffs?
