ARLINGTON, Texas -- Rangers first baseman Mitch Moreland played his third game on an injury rehabilitation assignment Wednesday with Double-A Frisco, going 3-for-5 with a home run, a double and two RBIs.
Moreland, who has been out two weeks with a strained right hamstring, is eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list Friday with the Rangers in St. Louis to begin a three-game series against the Cardinals.
Moreland was 6-for-9 in his three-game rehab assignment with a home run, three doubles and three RBIs.
Moreland should boost a Rangers lineup that has slumped during a 2-7 homestand. Moreland has 12 home runs on the season and was one of the Rangers' hottest hitters when he strained his hamstring going to second base on a double against Boston at Fenway Park.
