He ended the run up the All-Star break by handing Detroit's Max Scherzer, the American League All-Star team starter, his first loss of the season ... Holland allowed a run in seven innings in a 7-1 victory over the Tigers ... It was the eighth time Holland has pitched at least seven innings and allowed two runs or fewer this season ... Holland has 121 strikeouts in 125 2/3 innings ... He has allowed only eight home runs ... Woods is 4-1 with a 3.66 ERA for his career against the Orioles, including a victory this season.
Chen (4-3, 2.82): Chen missed two months with a right oblique strain, then came back to shut down the Rangers right before the All-Star break ... Chen allowed a run in seven inning, giving up only three hits while also walking three ... He has allowed more than three earned runs in only one of his nine starts this season ... Opponents are batting .244 against him ... Chen has a 3.34 road ERA ... Chen has had trouble closing out innings, allowing a .313 batting average with runners in scoring position with two outs ... Chen is 2-0 with a 1.23 ERA for his career against the Rangers.
