OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Texas Rangers will play the finale of their three-game series against the Oakland Athletics on Sunday afternoon with left-hander Derek Holland facing A's right-hander A.J. Griffin. First pitch at the Coliseum is set for 3:05 p.m. on Fox Sports Southwest, ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM and ESPN Deportes 1540 AM.

Holland (8-6, 3.18 ERA): Holland is 4-1 with a 2.92 ERA in nine career starts against the A's. He's 2-1 with a 3.67 in six starts at the Coliseum. … He's won four straight decisions against the A's after losing his first start versus Oakland on Aug. 4, 2009. … Holland had a no-decision in his only start against the A's this season on May 15, a 6-5 Texas win in 10 innings. He allowed four runs on eight hits over 5 2/3 innings. … Holland is 6-1 with a 2.89 ERA in 11 road starts this season. He's 5-0 with a 2.45 ERA in his past eight road starts. … In 14 of his 22 starts, Holland has not allowed a home run.

Griffin (10-7, 3.90 ERA): Griffin is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in four career starts against the Rangers. He's 1-0 with a 2.19 ERA in two starts versus Texas this season. … Griffin has allowed 26 home runs, the most in the majors entering play Saturday and the most by an A's pitcher since Trevor Cahill allowed 27 in 2009. … Griffin has allowed at least two home runs in each of his past three starts, including three against Toronto in his last start. … Griffin went 4-1 with a 4.86 ERA in six starts in July.

Hitters: A's infielder Alberto Callaspo owns a .342 career batting average against Holland, going 12-for-35 with five doubles and one home run … A's third baseman Josh Donaldson has five hits in eight at-bats (.625) versus Holland with one home run and two doubles. … A's left fielder Yoenis Cespedes has two hits in nine at-bats against Holland, both of them home runs. … Rangers left fielder David Murphy is 3-for-7 (.429) with two RBIs against Griffin, while catcher Geovany Soto is 3-for-6 (.500) with one home run and two RBIs. … Third baseman Adrian Beltre, right fielder Nelson Cruz and second baseman Ian Kinsler are a combined 6-for-28 with no extra-base hits versus Griffin.
