OAKLAND, Calif. -- Right-hander Colby Lewis' minor league rehab assignment will last at least one more start and possibly two, Texas Rangers assistant general manager Thad Levine said Sunday.

Lewis, who underwent surgery on July 27, 2012, to repair a torn flexor tendon in his pitching elbow, had his seventh rehab start Saturday for Double-A Frisco, allowing six hits and two runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked one and threw 86 pitches.

Lewis' next rehab start will be Thursday for Triple-A Round Rock, "with a hope that he gets up to 100 pitches," Levine said.

"Each outing, he says he feels a little bit better, both stuff-wise and health-wise. But the collective group felt it was the most prudent thing for him to have another start. He's excited about helping this team, but he wants to do it when he feels he's 100 percent able to do that. He feels there's a real benefit of having one more start down there to be evaluated."

Lewis' rehab window ends on Aug. 15, so he has time to make a maximum of two more rehab starts.

Darvish on a roll: Rangers right-hander Yu Darvish is 2-1 with a 0.47 ERA in three starts since returning from the disabled list. Darvish struck out 14 in seven shutout innings Thursday in a win over Arizona, but overconfidence won't be a problem when he makes his next start Tuesday against the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim, Calif.

"It just happened I had three really good starts," Darvish said. "I have to be humble. I don't know what's going to happen in the future. I have to be focused and pitch my game."

Darvish knows he'll face an Angels team that is missing injured slugger Albert Pujols.

"They have a lot of talent on that team," Darvish said. "It's still a threat."
