ARLINGTON -- The Texas Rangers finish off a two-game series against Milwaukee when right-hander Matt Garza faces Brewers right-hander Tyler Thornburg at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday on Fox Sports Southwest and ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM and Deportes 1540 AM.

Garza (2-1, 3.38): Garza is 7-1 with a 2.10 ERA in 10 starts with the Chicago Cubs and Rangers since June 16. ... He is 2-1 with a 3.38 ERA in four starts since being acquired by the Rangers on July 22. ... Garza has been a workhorse, going at least seven innings in all four of his starts. ... He allowed four earned runs in seven innings in his most recent start, a 9-5 victory over Houston. ... Garza is one of four who have started their Rangers careers with four starts of seven-plus innings, the others being Fergie Jenkins (1974), Bert Blyleven (1976) and Cliff Lee (2010). ... Garza won his only start for the Cubs against Milwaukee this season, allowing an earned run in seven innings in a 7-2 victory. He had 10 strikeouts and one walk. ... He is 4-1 with a 2.66 ERA for his career against Milwaukee.

Thornburg (1-0, 1.72): Thornburg makes his 10th appearance and his third start of the season. ... He last pitched an inning in relief with a perfect nine inning Saturday at Seattle. ... Thornburg's most recent start came Aug. 5 at San Francisco when he took a no-decision, not allowing an earned run in six innings. ... He made his other start July 30 at the Cubs when he pitched six scoreless innings and received another no-decision. ... Thornburg was recalled on June 29 from Triple-A Nashville where he was 0-9 with a 5.79 ERA in 15 starts.

Hitters: Thornburg has never faced the Rangers. Current Brewers are batting .218 against Garza. Aramis Ramirez is 2-for-5 against him.
