Buzz: No update yet on Alexi Ogando

The Rangers, taking a needed day off, don't expect an update on No. 5 starter Alexi Ogando's sore right shoulder until Friday.

Ogando had a CT scan on his right shoulder Wednesday after complaining about soreness after Tuesday's start against Milwaukee. He gave up three home runs and allowed four runs total in 7 1/3 innings in a 5-1 loss. Ogando's velocity dropped during his start.

Berkman update: Designated hitter Lance Berkman will not play for Frisco on Thursday night as has been the plan.

Berkman was 0-for-1 with two walks in his fourth rehab game Wednesday. He is 4-for-11 in four games. The Rangers will address Berkman's situation further on Friday.

If they choose to activate Berkman, they'll have to make a roster move. It's possible Berkman could be added if Ogando goes on the 15-day disabled list and Ross Wolf steps in as the No. 5 starter. Ogando's turn in the rotation comes up Monday against Houston, and Matt Garza could make that start on regular rest, allowing the Rangers to put off using a fifth starter until Tuesday.

Feliz to throw: Right-hander Neftali Feliz is scheduled to throw a bullpen Thursday in Round Rock. Feliz hasn't thrown from a mound since trying to warm up during Sunday's game in Round Rock. He has right triceps tendinitis.
