Notes: Rangers claim LHP Edwar Cabrera

October, 16, 2013
The Texas Rangers have claimed left-handed pitcher Edwar Cabrera from the Colorado Rockies. He was on the Rockies' 60-day disabled list and has been transferred to the Rangers' 60-day DL. He joins Colby Lewis and Matt Harrison on that list. The Rangers still have a full 40-man roster.

Cabrera, who turns 26 on Sunday, had surgery on his left shoulder in July and missed the 2013 season. He has just eight career outings above Double-A, including two starts for the Rockies in 2012. He is 26-21 with a 3.13 ERA in his minor league career after signing as a free agent with Colorado in 2008.
