Texas Rangers pitcher Derek Holland may not be a movie star, but he'll be on the big screen next year in "Dumb and Dumber To." Holland took part in the opening scene of a movie franchise that he loves.
Directed by the Farrelly brothers (Bobby and Peter), "Dumb and Dumber To" is the sequel to the cult classic "Dumb and Dumber." The brothers asked Holland to appear in the sequel, which will be released next year. Holland can recite most of "Dumb and Dumber."

"I'm thrilled to death," Holland said. "I'm very, very, very excited. I can't really say too much. I have to keep it a secret. But it's my favorite movie."
Holland said he got the invite after the producers saw his video with former teammate Justin Grimm in New York from this past season. Holland and Grimm wore tuxedos like those from "Dumb and Dumber" as part of an appearance at MLB's Fan Cave. The video went viral and received a lot of attention.
Holland says he is clearly identifiable in the film.
"There's no haircut or anything like that," Holland said.
And no lines, either. Holland doesn't say a word.
"They weren't ready for my acting career to take off like that," Holland joked.
