ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Texas Rangers had a roster move to make with Colby Lewis slated to start tonight's game and have designated right-handed pitcher Daniel McCutchen for assignment to insert Lewis into the game.

McCutchen made one appearance in his two stints with the Rangers, allowing three runs (two earned) in 2 1/3 innings on April 4 at Tampa. Texas has 10 days to trade, release or outright McCutchen to Triple-A Round Rock.

McCutchen's role on the team was up in the air after Texas acquired Hector Noesi, making him the long man.
