Extra Bases: Identity eludes these Rangers

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Ron Washington said his team has yet to establish its identity in 2014.

“There’s been too many moving pieces," the Texas Rangers manager said, referring to the onslaught of injuries that have sidelined so many key performers.

The shuffling of players to the disabled list, pressing the need for minor league additions, has left the roster in a constant state of flux.

It is Washington’s belief that only in the past three weeks has the current group begun to learn what they have to do to win games, a stretch that includes the recent 7-4 road trip.

Texas (31-31) hosts the Cleveland Indians in the third game of a four-game series at 2:05 p.m. today at Globe Life Park.
