6/8/2014

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor was taken out of Sunday’s game in the fifth inning with a right shoulder sprain.

He is listed as day-to-day and will be examined further on Monday.

Odor was injured as he attempted to dive back to first base on a pickoff move by Cleveland Indians starter Justin Masterson. Luis Sardinas took Odor’s place in the infield for the sixth inning.

Odor, 20, was 1-for-2 on Sunday and made two nice defensive plays in the fourth inning. He is batting .290 with two homers and 13 RBIs. He has a hit in 11 of his last 14 games and has hit .366 in that span.

He has four hits, two of them triples, and five RBIs on May 24 in Detroit, becoming the first player under 21 years of age with four hits and five RBIs since Al Kaline on April 17, 1955.
