ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers first baseman/outfielder Jim Adduci fractured his left pinkie for the second time and had two screws put in to stabilize it and allow it to heal. General manager Jon Daniels said Adduci is looking at about three weeks before he can be back to playing games.

If not for the finger issues, Adduci would be the club's first baseman in place of Mitch Moreland, who is contemplating his surgery options and getting a second opinion Thursday on his injured ankle.

Adduci hurt the finger again Saturday during a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock. He was making a play at first and was hopeful that he just jammed it. But when the finger showed no improvement for a few days, the decision was made to get the screws inserted.
