ARLINGTON, Texas – Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder on Wednesday made his first appearance at Globe Life Park since undergoing season-ending cervical fusion surgery on the C5-C6 discs on his neck on May 27.

Fielder's season lasted just 42 games because of neck issues.

“He doesn't have the pain,” Rangers manager Ron Washington said. “He’s feeling normal almost again and he can’t do anything. At least he’s starting to sleep better. His spirits are high (and) it was nice to see him, and the guys enjoyed seeing him. We told him to come around and hang out with us.”

Fielder, who it .247 with three home runs and 16 RBIs after being acquired from the Tigers for Ian Kinsler, will now start his rehab in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

“We want to see him at the ballpark,” Washington said of Fielder. “It was real good to see him. He came in talked for a while, smiling and happy, then went to messing with (Adrian) Beltre. We know when the Prince is in town then we hear Beltre yelling.”
