The Rangers conclude a seven-game homestand with a three-game set against the Los Angeles Angels at Globe Life Park.

Here's a preview:

What’s up with the Angels? The Angles swept the Rangers in four games (July 10-13) in their last visit to Arlington and have won their last seven. During that four-game sweep, it prompted Rangers manager Ron Washington to have a team meeting. Former Ranger Josh Hamilton was in an 0-for-15 slide before getting a double in the Angels' 19-inning game this week. He’s got two hits in the last two games since. His last home run was Aug. 4. Albert Pujols (22 HRs, 73 RBIs and .477 slugging), Mike Trout (27 HRs, 85 RBIs and .382 OPB) and Howie Kendrick (.282 BA and 173 total bases) continue to lead the offense. The Angels have won their last two games.

What’s up with the Rangers? The club lost three of four games to the Tampa Bay Rays and continues to deal with inconsistency with its young starting pitching. Leonys Martin has scored a run in the last three games and hit .538 in the four-game set with the Rays. There are some positives from young relievers Phil Klein and Alex Claudio the last two games. Claudio pitched two scoreless innings in his first two relief appearances and Klein pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings in Thursday’s loss to Tampa.

Home struggles for Rangers: Losing to the Angels is one thing, but struggling at Globe Life Park is another. The Rangers are 4-6 at home in the second half of the season and have lost 14 of the last 18 games. With a 22-36 mark, the Rangers' home mark is the lowest in the majors and the fewest wins through 57 games in club history.

The matchups: Friday RHP Nick Martinez (2-8, 5.22) vs. RHP Garrett Richards (12-4, 2.54). Saturday: RHP Colby Lewis (8-9, 5.42) vs. RHP Matt Shoemaker (10-4, 3.89). Sunday: RHP Nick Tepesch (4-7, 4.29) vs. LHP Hector Santiago (3-7, 3.59).
