INDIANAPOLIS -- Kevin Millwood is apparently drawing some interest from a few clubs, but that doesn't mean the Texas Rangers are interested in dealing him.
Millwood gives the rotation a veteran anchor and his $12 million salary expires at the end of the season, so he'll be pitching for another contract. Shedding Millwood's salary would give the club more flexibility, but general manager Jon Daniels said they are not in position where they have to do that. In other words: The Rangers may be financially challenged, but they don't have to start dumping players.
Daniels said he plans on meeting with his staff tonight and then meeting with more teams and agents. Daniels said his meetings have been split so far between agents and clubs.
