Guerrero powers Rangers to victory
Five was a key number for the Rangers in their 8-7 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday.
Vladimir Guerrero drove in five runs as the team broke a five-game road losing streak and improved to 5-0 this year against their Surprise spring training partners. And it took five pitchers to get the job done.
Guerrero now leads the majors with 42 RBIs. He's hitting .347 with 12 home runs. It was his second two-homer game as a Ranger, and he's gone deep 10 times this month.
Pitcher No. 5 for the Rangers, Neftali Feliz, picked up his 13th save.
Darren O'Day (2-2), who came on with one out in the sixth when starter Rich Harden faltered, picked up the victory.
Nelson Cruz and Josh Hamilton also homered for the Rangers, who won't have much time to enjoy this one before the two-game series wraps up with a 1:10 p.m. Wednesday start.
