Young 4th in voting; Cowboys helping out
By Richard Durrett
The latest voting totals show Michael Young fourth among the five contestants vying for the final spot on the AL All-Star team. Paul Konerko passed Young as of Tuesday. But there's still time for Young to make a move. Fans have until 3 p.m. Dallas time on Thursday to cast an online ballot for Young. That can be done here.
The Dallas Cowboys are helping out, sending emails to their fan base and helping via social media outlets. Players have also pitched in with their support.
"Michael needs every fan’s vote to go to the All-Star Game,” said Jason Witten, the Cowboys five-time NFL Pro Bowl tight end in a release. “He’s not only having another great year, but he’s also the American League’s lucky charm. Mike’s been an All-Star the last six years, and the A.L. has won all of those games. Let’s help him go back. Vote often before Thursday’s deadline.”
Also, fans are eligible for some discounts and sweepstakes. Here are those details from the club's release:
Fans voting on-line will automatically be eligible for a 50% discount in all ticket categories up to $30.00 for a selected Rangers home game in August or September. Full information on the discount can to be found at texasrangers.com/allstar.
