By Richard Durrett

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The second game of this series between the Rangers and Twins features LHP C.J. Wilson vs. LHP Brian Duensing. Both pitchers are in the middle of five-game win streaks. Here's a quick look at the matchup:

Wilson (12-5, 3.02 ERA): He's won his last five decisions over a span of seven starts and has a 2.20 ERA in those outings. His 3.02 ERA is the fifth-best in the AL and leads the Rangers staff. He's coming off a 2-0 win over Baltimore in which he was one out shy of a complete-game shutout. He gave up just three hits and had 12 strikeouts and one walk. Wilson is 0-2 with a 3.41 ERA in 18 career games against Minnesota. He's made just one start vs. the Twins, giving up five runs on six innings on May 29.

Duensing (7-1, 1.92 ERA): He was inserted in the rotation about a month ago when Nick Blackburn was struggling and was sent down to Triple-A. Duensing is 4-0 in six starts with a 2.18 ERA. He gave up one run on seven hits in eight innings with six strikeouts in a win over the Angels last week. Duensing is 1-1 with a 1.74 ERA in his career against Texas. That does include one start, Aug. 28, 2009, in which he allowed one run on three hits in seven innings with eight strikeouts and one walk at home.

Hitters: Only four Rangers have faced Duensing -- Michael Young, Josh Hamilton, David Murphy and Elvis Andrus and all are a combined 3-for-16 with one RBI against him. Current Twins players are batting .143 against Wilson. The top hitter is Denard Span at 2-for-8. Joe Mauer is 1-for-14 with three strikeouts against Wilson.
