Rangers face biggest deficit to date
The Rangers haven't found themselves trailing much at the end of innings this season -- it had only happened four times before today's doubleheader in Baltimore.
But early home runs by the Orioles' Nick Markakis and Mark Reynolds off a shaky Colby Lewis -- paired with an error by Mike Napoli at first -- have contributed to Texas' 5-0 hole after three. That's the Rangers' biggest deficit of the young season.
Markakis' shot went about 350 feet and just cleared the right-field pole. Reynolds' was a three-run homer.
Former Rangers DH Vladimir Guerrero also has a hit off Lewis and scored on Adam Jones' two-out single up the middle with two outs in the third.
Lewis has struggled with control, leaving the two home run balls up high in the zone. Jones' single came on a 3-2 count.
The Rangers do not have a hit off Weatherford's Zach Britton through three innings.
