Rangers All-Star voting update
By Richard Durrett
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Rangers designated hitter Michael Young has dropped to second in the latest American League All-Star balloting released today.
Young is now just a little more than 127,000 votes behind David Ortiz in the standings at DH. Of course, Rangers manager Ron Washington gets to pick some reserves and Young will certainly be on that list if he doesn't get voted in.
Josh Hamilton remains third among AL outfielders, meaning if he holds that position he will start in the All-Star game July 12 in Arizona.
*Adrian Beltre is second to A-Rod at third base.
*Ian Kinsler is third at second base behind Robinson Cano and Dustin Pedroia.
*Elvis Andrus sits third at shorstop with Derek Jeter holding a sizeable lead over second-place Asdrubal Cabrera.
*Mitch Moreland is fourth among first baseman, and Yorvit Torrealba is fifth among catchers.
*Nelson Cruz is sixth in the outfield race.
