Matchup: Alexi Ogando vs. Tyler Chatwood

The Rangers face the Angels in the first of a three-game set tonight on the road. RHP Alexi Ogando makes his first start of the second half against RHP Tyler Chatwood. A brief look at the matchup:
Ogando (9-3, 2.92 ERA): The 27-year-old last pitched in the All-Star Game last Tuesday, getting both batters he faced -- Pittsburgh's Andrew McCutchen and Cincinnati's Joey Votto -- on ground balls, throwing six pitches all strikes. ...Ogando ranks among the AL leaders with a .326 opponent slugging percentage (7th), .213 opponent batting average (7th) and a 2.92 ERA (9th). ...Right-handed batters are hitting just .161 against him, the lowest in the majors. ...This is his first regular season start since July 6 vs. Baltimore, when he gave up three runs on four hits in seven innings. ...He was moved to fifth in the rotation out of the break to give his arm as much rest as possible. ...Ogando is 1-0 with a 0.64 ERA with 13 strikeouts and one walk in nine games (one start) against the Angels in his career. ...His only start versus the Halos came on May 13 in Arlington, when he gave up one run on five hits in 6 1/3 innings.
Chatwood (5-5, 3.62 ERA): The 21-year-old from Fontana, Calif., is making his 18th start of the season and has won just two of his last eight outings. ...Chatwood gave up two runs (no earned) on four hits with five walks in 5 1/3 innings against the Tigers in his last start. He threw 101 pitches. ...He did have two consecutive quality starts and pitched at least seven innings in those outings in late June, beating the Dodgers and Mets. ...He has never faced the Rangers.
Hitters: Chatwood has never faced any of the Rangers hitters. ...The Angels have hit just .226 as a team off Ogando with Alberto Callaspo the only guy with multiple hits. He's 2-for-4 with a double. ...Howie Kendrick has the most at-bats of any Angel against Ogando and is 1-for-7.
