Notes: Andres Blanco says back feels better
By Richard Durrett
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Rangers infielder Andres Blanco said he took swings again Monday, for the third straight day, and that his sore back feels better.
He said it was bothering him a few weeks ago and that he had to just rest for 10 days. It hasn't been an issue since he's starting ramping up again, but he knows another setback could impact whether he has time to come back and help the club much before the end of the season.
"I don't think we'll see him back before September," Washington said.
* Washington said he'd like to get Michael Young a day off when he can at some point during this homestand. Young has played in 126 of the club's 128 games this seaosn, the most on the team (four ahead of Ian Kinsler).
* The Red Sox are shifting Tim Wakefield to Friday against the A's and pushing left-hander Andrew Miller up to Thursday.
